you should see the beaming faces of the 2 kids when we made these decorative cookies the past weekend. they just scream JOY! and to be honest, sometimes i do have those guilts whenever they wanted to help out in the kitchen and i decline. you know, those days during the week when you HAVE to cook rather than WANT to cook. those days that you cannot afford to waste precious minutes trying to teach and please at the same time?
in all fairness though, weekends are wholly a fun-in-the-kitchen time for them. and this was one of those...happy, fun, mother and kids bonding time. and these were some of the cookies we made. i just love how this spiCe-y turqoise and teal detail turned out. it's just so me? haha! so spiCes-eesh! though something needs to be done with the jagged edges of the royal icing, i know...but i feel good after finishing this set. these are all free-style! free-hand no special moulds what-so-ever!
and let's not forget THE clutch that i recently posted here? i called it mom's bag. and that was meant to be for my mama.
still needs some fine tuning as well, but good enough for a first attempt handling royal icing i should say:) but thsi cookie...is definitely and definitively very my mom! again HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MAMA, we love you! and to all the beautiful and invisible mothers out there, enjoy your day tomorrow! i am posting this a day early since i am not sure if i can do some blogging tomorrow...[i wonder what's hiding in the closet :), hmmmm probably a digislr? lol! i wish!]
p.s. if you need the recipe, just leave a message and i'll post it for you! have a great weekend everyone!
