..truly a heart-warming kind-a-stuff! perfect for breakfast or brunch, even snacks.  with just the right tinge of sweetness from the pastry, you would want another serving or two.  you can say that i may have had enough of the bagels there for now.  the reason why i had this a few days ago.  and i’m glad i did:]

for the little one

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

The little boy is soon turning 7 and in the Philippines this is considered a milestone. We usually prepare something special as one hits this age. I haven’t really planned anything though. I guess after the thanksgiving brouhahas I can finally set my mind into cooking up something for the sweet boy. Although a class party is also essential, I am so definite that he would want a birthday bash in the house or something too. But, when we talk of presents…I have got the best idea already. Since he is so into building stuffs lately, I found this interesting Valor Castle that has 8 cards and instructions for easy to learn, action packed Plasma Duel game, 2 dragons figurine with fiery plasma breath and tail smashing action, 12 buildable figures with weapons and armor, 4 war machines, battle damage walls and 395 interchangeable parts. All these for just a fraction of the price.  What I specifically like about these kinds of toys is the benefits that one gets out of it like it enhances creativity and imagination, helps in reasoning and problem solving, improves focus and attention, promotes motor skills and organizational skills.  I saw it in this website which offers an array of name branded toys at affordable prices.  Go check it out and find that very special something for your very special little one.

…here’s another red place mat that we use on a daily basis. i like it apart from the color but because of its shape. the second shot i took using my new toy:] and until now i am still in the getting-used-to-it phase, but i’d say…i’m getting there:]..now i want a zoom lens! i didn’t realize that this is never ending. now i want the lens, then another, then what? haha! oh well…
…anyways, the one on top of it is a present from our friends when they came from Abu Dhabi, pretty neat game where one aims to put the metal balls in the middle of that wooden maze of sorts…

Monday, November 24th, 2008

FbdAt my age, I am proud to say that I am quite content with my weight in proportion to my height at 5 foot and 8 inches. Do I hear some whoa there? Yes peeps, I am a towering wife and mom of two. That being said, after giving birth twice, both through normal procedures…one just had to agree that unwanted build ups in certain parts of the body is, well…somewhat given and expected. This is where the problem comes in. I may have tried each and every possible way to get rid of this unsightly belly bulge, but nothing has really proven its magic! Exercise, fruit diet…it’s all giving temporary solutions and to say it bluntly, I want to lose it now on a permanent basis.
This is why I am getting so excited upon learning about the Flat Belly Diet. Apparently, this was created for people who have tried everything, just like me to eliminate that bulge. It is a well researched program that offers a science-based solution with a cutting-edge nutrition plan plus all the expert tips and advice during the process. Proven facts gets high lighted such as eating healthy fats which is also called monounsaturated fatty acids or MUFAs at every meal, did you get that right? every meal!… specifically targets belly fat. Sounds exciting! Think dark chocolate, olives, avocado, nuts and seeds! These are types of fatty foods that proves to be heart-healthy and disease-fighting. Now that’s what we all need! One can actually lose weight, more particularly around your middle while eating all these delicious treats and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into those goodies and knowing I am on my way to finally, finally getting rid of these bulges!  I hope to be one of the lucky guys who gets picked to try the program out and blog about my foresee amazing results soon!

star-fruit
…we were at the Asian Supermarket last weekend and found this. a fruit that my kids haven’t tried yet. and S was kinda intrigued i guess, with it’s fancy shape. she actually liked it. as for me, i was a little nostalgic when i saw the star fruit or balimbing as we call it. did you know that it is also called CARAMBOLA? i didn’t hehe…some also refer to it as five finger.
…anyway, we ate it a couple of days since we bought it and it naturally started turning yellow greenish already. but boy did it bring back good ‘ol memories when i finally let my teeth sink in to the sweet ribs of the fruit! i’ve always had balimbing when i was a kid and it’s been decades i suppose since i last had one! geesh!

okay! nuff said…for our theme this week, anything GREEN! go get those camera’s rolling and GO GREEN!

LaPiS-go-green is a themed weekly FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY meme, PINOY style! have fun and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

metal forming

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

There was once a time when metal spinning have often been viewed as suitable only as a working model of a new product and for low production quantities. Not anymore. With all the technology that we are enjoying at present, high production metal spinning machines can often produce at rates comparable to large press equipment. There is a company called AP&T that builds these very specialized machines to create things with the use of metal. Cylinders in the auto parts industry is one perfect example. Hot stamping is also another way of forming metal. Check out the website for more information on its process.
