condo living

Friday, January 16th, 2009

I have always been curious about condominium living. The glamorous lifestyle that goes with it and all the luxuries and amenities when you own or even rent a unit in these high-rise structures. Even my kids have this inquisitive idea about them. One reason must be because they love staying in a hotel and they see this as hotel-like living with the concierge service, swimming pool, elevator facilities and fitness center that comes with it.

One perfect example would be the Sunnyvale apartments in California, even right here in Quincy Massachusetts. The heated pool also comes with spas, sundeck, a dry sauna and steam room within a well manicured grounds great for picnic and barbecue during the summer months. Satellite and cable TV is available plus a conference center solely for the use of its residents. The Mediterranean inspired architecture of the buildings might be deceiving, but it is nicely tucked in the center of everything, accessible to the freeway, buses and other public transportation. Safety is of utmost importance here, what with a gated entrance with controlled access, covered parking and garages. You don’t even have to get out to do some shopping because it has on-site retail shopping too. Do that while walking around your cat or dog since it is a pet friendly facility.

signages

Friday, January 16th, 2009

During this crucial down time, what is there for business owners to do to help out in their sales? We all know that a lot of consumers have been avoiding shopping and extra spending especially buying unimportant items. But we all know as well that that big SALE sign is such a temptation, right? This is how companies can deal with this dilemma. Be creative and use magnetic Signs and huge and flashy signage with custom banners announcing sales and letting customers know what you are selling even using car magnets is an excellent way to advertise while simply being on the road driving

Food Friday : beignet

Friday, January 16th, 2009

beignet

1. a fritter or doughnut.
2. French Cookery. any fruit, vegetable, seafood, etc., dipped in batter and deep-fried.

beignet-2
…something i saw over at Food Network that has it’s roots from New Orleans, specifically from the very famous Cafe Du Monde.  it is apparently their own version of the doughnut. without the hole…sprinkled with powdery white sugar, LOTS!
..for FF-beignet

rent to own

Friday, January 16th, 2009

It is crunch time we all know that, right? Everywhere we go, this is insanely the talk of the town and who isn’t affected by the current world wide crisis? Not one that I know of. One way or another we are experiencing some down time right now. You know what? We are taking precautionary measures at this point. We have decided to down size. In many aspects, but most specifically we are moving to a smaller 2 bedroom house soon. We don’t really need a huge 3 room house anyway since 99% of our time is spent in my room, the dining room and the kitchen only. So the living room plus the 2 extra rooms are waisted spaces, as they say. For me, that is waisted money as well. Since we don’t own a house yet, we can sacrifice a little…for the sake of our future. But what could have been a better option is finding something that we can rent and own at the same time. Even rent to own appliances will be a very good idea.
So what is rent to own exactly? It is the answer to a consumer’s need for having household products and other durable goods without having to deal with future long-term debt, financial obligations or threatening ones credit. If you ask me, this is the best time for rent to own companies to offer consumers like me, these wonderful alternative to shopping. It is a win-win solution. Even with the incurring interest rates, a lot of people will grab chances like this, believe me.
