Long life and noodles…hmmm, where did that actually originate?
Long noodles…hmmm, where else but from our Chinese ancestors! It is believed that serving and eating noodles for a birthday celebration or during the New Year, well…Chinese New Year equates long life.

For this week’s theme, I am delighted to announce that it’s party time! More specifically, it’s a time for blowing out some candles because we are focusing on BIRTHDAYS…and guess what, this may sound so self-centered but it’s actually my birthday week. Sorry guys, but this is what first came into mind for this particular week when I was listing the next themes. Probably because I am not the only lioness around…there’s Iska whose birthday is 2 days after mine. I will never forget her birthday. You know why? It is also my mom’s birthday, who is celebrating with me here in Massachusetts! And of course there’s my sister whose birthday happens to be a week after. This is probably the very reason why we planned their trip here to fall on this month! Now that doesn’t sound very selfish at all, right?

So what are we waiting for? The party is potluck, guys! Bring on what you got and let’s par-tay! The cake’s on me, though.:)

While we’re at it…let me make some advance announcements and apologies…As some of you may now know, my whole family [well except for my brother and SIL who will be coming from Canada a week after] will be arriving from the Philippines on Tuesday, the 5th…guess what! On my birthday! Woohoo! Two days after, the 7th is my mom’s birthday [and Iska's:), don't forget to greet her too!] and on that very day, we will be driving 3 hours or so to Connecticut for a niece’s wedding the next day. Did I mention that we are going straight to New York after…and the list goes on and on for the next 3 weeks?

To cut the long story short, I might not be able to make the Sunday announcements as promptly as I’d love to [just like today] if I even get to post.
