Lasang Pinoy, Sundays Week#14: Colorful

Lapis-spaghetti
Yellowish pasta, red meat sauce, fresh green herbs, freshly grated whitish parmesan cheese…these are the colors that make up a festive dish. Bright, sunny and colorful. This is LASANG PINOY, SUNDAY’s theme for this week.

Now when we talk of festivities, this dish is probably one that has graced my own kitchen the most. One reason being is that I do have an inkling for Italian pastas in all its glory…be it pesto, alfredo, aglio, puttanesca, bolognese to name a few. The last could be the nearest to this one…but I’d rather call it my very own SIMPLE SPAGHETTI. As cross-posted over at my other website, momcooks.dadcooks…I mentioned that I made this especially for my daughter’s birthday last Tuesday. Having done a number of variations on the simple spaghetti, this is one of the most appreciated specifically by the kids.

Speaking of kids, any birthday won’t be complete without the fancy-snancy cake, right?  So here it is [again]! S’s birthday cupcakes…
