Lasang Pinoy, Sundays Week#20: goodie! Halloween goodies!
…Halloween is one of the most celebrated holidays here in the United States and other neighboring western countries. It is that time of year for trick-or-treat’n, costume parties, ghost stories, horror movies, pumpkins and carving jack-o-lanterns and since this is the season that marks the start of the annual apple harvest, candy apples is also most appropriate [which made me think twice about last week's announcement image].
…in the Philippines on the other hand, i believe we are also starting to embrace this tradition more and more starting from decorations and a growing number of communities like big companies and prominent subdivisions having their own share of the trick-or-treat brouhaha and Halloween parties which calls for spooky, creepy yet delicious goodies like candies, cookies, cupcakes and muffins, to name a few.
this is in fact our theme for the this week’s LaPiS…Halloween goodies! from devilishly delicious desserts, black and orangey treats, h-h-h-haunted h-h-h-hors d’oeuvres to creepy cocktails even carved or plain pumpkins…orĀ colorful monsters and tarantula, perhaps? which was made by my daughter, S in the Halloween costume party that she attended last night while donning a sorceress costume…or what we had for breakfast today, a web-ilicious funnel cake!
i plan to experiment more with halloween inspired treats so do come back here during the week or there after!

…don’t forget to link back and visit each other’s entries please and oh, check out the left sidebar for our upcoming themes!
is a weekly FOOD photography event, Pinoy style!…have a great week ahead and a spooky-licious Halloween!!!

You said it! Halloween is probably the only time you can make me eat all those “creepy crawlies” – especially when they come in the forms of candies, cookies and cupcakes – yum!
And yes, I do miss the Halloween “festivities” in Manila! Too bad our little girl here hasn’t had a taste of trick-or-treatin’ yet… we pray that we’ll be given the chance to do it real soon though.
Advanced Happy Halloween, everyone!

Hey, Ces, I’ve always been curious about those funnel cakes. I saw a store in Manila selling these but I never had the chance to try it. It reminds me of a local dessert (maruya), which is made of banana, batter and sugar.
I like your spider desserts.

i am really fascinated with character goodies, be it be for halloween or otherwise. medyo “raw” ang halloween subject ko, but related to halloween nonetheless

pwede bang pag nag-treat or treat kami sa house niyo, funnel cake ang prize ko?
