weekend snapshot:fire and ice
A few snapshots of the long weekend…the Fourth of July Weekend.

First up, this has become a challenge for me, taking photos of fireworks. This is so far my most decent capture, sorry. Even with the settings set specifically for fireworks using my point and shoot camera, the result wasn’t very good so I had to switch to another setting playing with it in a trial and error fashion, as I am so clueless when it comes to apertures, EV’s, ISO’s and stuffs:).

There’s no Independence Day celebration around here without some grillin’! Here’s our share, well one of them. We had this chicken barbeque a la ‘Aristocrat‘ [a popular restaurant in the Philippines]which is a much sweeter version of the grilled chicken we have around here, some pork on a stick [as C would say it...'on a steek'], veggie kebobs, burgers [S's share with the help of neighbor Stel's specially delivered home-made humongous burger buns] and garlic-butter mussels! My personal favorite? The green mango slices with bagoong [anchovy paste]on the side!
As though that wasn’t enough…we even had the appetite for some ice cream for dessert!

It was certainly a weekend well-spent eating, grilling, spending [pssst! M bought me a new toy!...and I'm saving that for another post], watching with the kids and plainly chillax-ing!

Great shot of the fiery chicken! You make me jealous with your mention of green mangoes. I can’t, I don’t, have green mangoes here in Vancouver! It’s torture: haven’t had one in over 10 years.
Oh, we had chicken barbecue a la Aristocrat too for our Canada Day barbecue (July 1st). Seems like the nostalgia dish for a lot of people.

Ces, what a feast! The chicken must taste soooo good if ala Aristocrat yan.
It’s really hard to take pictures of firework displays. I must say, though, that your picture turned out nice.
